As the Principal Investigator (PI) for the Building Safety Analysis with AI project, I led the XR Lab in creating an extensive building image database to train an intelligent deep-learning algorithm. This AI system was designed to identify correlations between roof typologies and risks related to wind, water, and environmental contexts. Funded by the Cincinnati Insurance Company (CIC) over multiple phases, our team at XR Lab developed a predictive machine learning algorithm utilizing a convolutional neural network, enabling us to forecast building typologies and assess various characteristics related to roof risk.
